"You Never Know Who Is Listening"

Well, it was a wonderful Lord's Day yesterday. The spirit was warm though the Fall air was cool. The music in all the services was uplifting and worshipful. Freddy T and I opened our Bibles and preached the Word the best we could with the help of the Holy Spirit. We pray that lives were touched and eternity affected. We look forward to next Lord's Day and High Attendance Day in Sunday School and seeing lives touched by the Word as faithful teachers lead their classes.

But I want to write more specifically about the Sunday night service. Greg Moore , our committed Pastor to College and Singles, preached a great message from Numbers 13 on "Facing the Giants in Your Life." I was blessed by his words. Single adults testified in music and Scripture reading. "Foundation" , our college age quartet sang beautifully and with the Spirit's power about the Coming of the Lord ..."Soon and Very Soon." A precious single adult united with our church family at the invitation.

Sunday night worship is a vital part of our church's outreach . No, not as many people attend as the morning service , but I always see guests and new faces every Sunday night. Last night I saw two or three faces of church members who had not attended in a while. They were using the Sunday night service as a way to "ease back" into church attendance. I often notice that happening. The Sunday night crowd is a warm group who come looking for a Word from the Lord and wanting to be with the people of God.

What happened after the service is the subject of my thoughts. You never know who is listening or who is present in a service. After the service, the Lord gave me the privilege to lead nine souls in the "sinner's prayer" to be saved and receive Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Two precious new families visiting our service last night approached me after church asking for spiritual counsel. What a glorious opportunity to share the Gospel and get on our knees and pray together. Two families , nine people total, got on our knees in the church vestibule . Together we prayed out loud, and they all called on the Lord Jesus to save them. They plan to be present next Sunday morning . Pray for these believers in the Lord .

You never know who is present whenever we meet. You never know who is listening. One thing is sure . God is always working. "Be not weary in well doing , for in due season, you shall reap if you faint not." Galatians 6:9

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast , immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." I Corinthians 15:58

In His Grace,
Bro. Roger Romans 8:28
